Designed to facilitate collective thinking, this roundtable event will look at how museums can thrive in our increasingly digital world.
A panel of experts, including Jon Pratty (Relationship Manager, Digital and Creative Economies, ACE South East), Kate Lindsay (OU Computing Services Manager for Discovery and Engagement), Mia Ridge (a leading commentator and expert on museums and digital), and a representative from the HLF will share their views and provocations to kick-start a discussion which intends to explore current and new thinking, identify possibilities big and small, pinpoint resources, examine the digital strategies of ACE and the HLF, and highlight funding opportunities.
There will be plenty of time to share ideas, be inspired by what people are already doing and discuss potential projects as we explore how museums can adapt to the unknown in order to ensure they are ready for what might happen in the future. The roundtable may also provide a springboard for new collaborative work.
This event is for decision makers working in museums who want to find out more about the creative technology space, future opportunities, and how to make them work effectively for their organisation.
This session is free of charge and ASPIRE will pay for reasonable costs of delegate’s travel. Places are limited and will be given on a first-come-first-served basis (maximum of one per museum).
Participants are invited to arrive from 10.30 for coffee. The day will start promptly at 11.00 with a working lunch and aims to finish by 14.30.
