Community Outreach

15 September 15 -- Anonymous

Oxford University Museums and our partners work with community groups within and around Oxford and Oxfordshire to bring the collections held by the museums out to people who might not otherwise not be able to visit the museums and engage with the collections.

At Oxford University Museums our community outreach team in particular work with hard to reach audiences, focusing their activity on children’s centres and community groups in the south-east of Oxford as well as engaging groups at risk of social exclusion such as hospital schools, RNIB, Pupil Referral Units, homeless groups, older people including people living with dimentia, prison and probation services and refugee and asylum seekers.

Last year, collectively we worked with 260 community groups engaging 8,500 children and young people and 7850 adults in community outreach sessions.

This map shows where and who our outreach activities reach.
