Sophie, an alumna of the Oxford Cultural Leaders 2017, shares her thougts on the programme.

Having reached a point in my career, where taking on a leadership position would be the next natural step, I was interested in spending time with people in similar situations, but also together with already existing leaders, to test out, if I was setting down the right path. Is leadership what I really wanted?

Since Summer 2015 Creation Theatre has been working with the Ashmolean Museum on its 'Holiday Play in a Week' programme, which works with young people (13-16 years) to develop an abridged version of a play over the course of a week, which the young people then perform for family and friends in the museum.

On 16 June 2017 Oxford University Museums partnered up with DLNET (Digital Learning Network) to host a conference dedicated to digital learning in museums - how digital can be used to enhance museum based learning experience, how digital can extend the reach of museum learning programmes beyond their walls, what works, what doesn't, and what's next!

In the autumn of 2016 I was sitting at my desk when a colleague alerted me to the Oxford Cultural Leaders Programme. I visited the website and a quick look around piqued my interest and I decided to apply.  But why? And what could I learn from a leadership course?
